Spring has Sprung!

Well, after 18 months so much has happened down here on the South Coast for The Dale Family. Businesses opening and closing, new careers being launched and others short lived, (despite all the best intentions, I don't think I will ever be a teacher), new schools for the girls, new friends and lots of normal stuff in between.  Thank goodness there is one thing you can always rely on and that is the change of seasons and Spring is so welcome!

Our garden is bursting with blossoms and new leaves. The smell as you walk through it is overwhelming and evokes many happy childhood memories. Unfortunately with the change of season there has been a horrible bout of virus spreading through the playground and our newly turned 6 year old has been struck down again. So today is all about barbie movies, wet washers and ice blocks. For me, it is all about getting over the madness of yesterday's birthday celebrations and looking after my Bella.

You never know perhaps I will get some cutting done for the smoky pink cross quilt that is next on my ''Quilting To Do List''.

Sew and Tell

Well I have managed to fit in my first (well second technically) trip to the local fabric shop. This time I went to 'Sew and Tell' in Berry just for a look of course..

I came out with some Amy Butler Lotus fat quarters (I am always on the lookout for this), 2m of a gorgeous fabric for a curtain and some gorgeous Kaffe prints for a wrap around skirt. I felt I needed a little indulgence after all my hard work and stress involved in moving!

Today I have managed to paint the front door and bannister black gloss (and only one little hand needed a rinse with turps), get the landline working (hence the internet too), take the girls swimming and buy a bunch of fabric. No wonder I am knackered!!!!!

Can't wait to rip up that horrendous orange carpet. And tonight is bin night, yeah it is chockers!!

Isaac Patrick

I know it has been a long time between posts but I just wanted to share a photo of the newest member of our family (Robyn's 6th grandchild) a boy named Isaac Patrick.

Caz and Neil are both enjoying the early days of parenthood, despite the lack of sleep, and we finally have a little boy in the family! xx

Prints Charming

Mum and I had a very enjoyable morning last week at an embroidery lesson hosted by the very talented Prints Charming ladies Cath and Kirsten.

I had been stumbling my way through a very pretty heart panel and picked up some wonderful tips and ideas to enhance it's beauty.

Please take a moment to look at their blog http://printscharming.typepad.com/prints_charming/

I am super keen now to start a bigger project, a bird panel!
Patchwork on Pittwater has just got some more heart panels in stock and there are some YUMMY fabrics arriving very soon. Will keep you posted x

The Tub Chair

Now, this chair has quite a story attached to it. It was actually bought for me by my mother as a feeding chair when I had my first child. It was a great chair very comfortable and well worn 3 children later.
During a council clean up my husband and I decided the chair had served it's purpose and could go out on the kerb. It disappeared pretty quickly and we never thought of it again until it appeared on my parents' porch. My mum had seen it outside our place and horrified had rescued it before anyone else did!
Well, look at it now!! She recently had it recovered in this gorgeous Amy Butler Home Dec fabric called Soul Blossoms Night Tree Cilantro.  Everyone who comes into the shop comments on it and it lives to be enjoyed another day!
